About Scotlandish

Welcome to Scotlandish.com!

In case you haven’t gotten to connection, this blog is about Scotland. Ish. The blog is managed by a couple of University students from Finland, currently studying at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Glasgow. In Scotland. (See the connection?)

Purpose?
Do we really need a purpose for blogging? A justification for taking some of your time to browse these pages and articles?
Oh fine.

This blog has 3 main purposes and objectives:

To Record
First and foremost, this a record of our years studying and travelling in Scotland, chronicling the trials, tribulations, and trivialities of our journey.

To Educate
To gather and analyse bits and pieces of living in Glasgow and studying at the University, and condense it into an easily digestible form for anyone looking for that information.
When researching Scotland prior to beginning our studies here, blogs and photos from Scotland were valuable in a) confirming that our choice of Glasgow and Scotland was the right one; b) preparing us for (some of) what we were about to face while living in Scotland; c) allowing us to

To Procrastinate
Blogging is a great tool to waste some quality study time. As such, blogging is quite productive at the end of the day. Well, more productive than many other activities available to a university student to waste time on.

Who’s The Audience?
Well, this is a public blog, so naturally anyone can peruse the wisdom within. The intended audience is primarily family and friends, secondarily anyone looking for information about the University of Glasgow and about living in Scotland, and finally everyone else.

Don’t forget to subscribe to get updates as soon as they’ve been written!
